3 Months

I took these last week on Sunday after church for her 3 month picture. She looked so precious in this long pink gingham Sunday dress. I can't wait to see her in it when she fills it out a little more.
I love this shot! It's almost as though she is praying.

In this color shot, I think the dress looks that much bigger. Her eighties puff sleeves!

And, now we switch personalities. Instead of the sweet, angelic baby in her Sunday dress, we now have our mischievous baby. Will said something about our baby from da hood, and now every time I see this picture I hear Beyonce singing "Soldier."

"If your status ain't hood, I ain't checkin' for him. Better be street if you're looking at me."

We're waiting

Today I left Mary-Knowles and Anna-Kate side-by-side for only a minute to throw away the most recent dirty diaper I had changed. When I came back, they were posed just like this, as if to say, "Where have you been? We're waiting."
How cute are they! They look so comfortable together. I think they are already quite used to each other.

Driving Already?

This past weekend Will and I kept our nephews for a little while. I put Anna-Kate in Anderson's exersaucer to see how she would like it. She's making her daddy proud by driving Jeep already.

This is a great comparison of their sizes. Anna-Kate is 3 months; Anderson is 10 months. Anderson always seemed small....until you put Anna-Kate beside him.

Will is so good with the boys. Camden loves to play with Uncle Will. Saturday morning they played "tarantula baseball", Hi-Ho Cherrios, and here they are building a house with legos.

Our Star

This is my and Will's first attempt to make a video of Anna-Kate. Here is our rising star sharing one of the greatest sounds ever!

Twins?

This is my and Anna-Kate's new 8-4 world. We are watching one of my [Broughton teacher] friend's little girl Mary-Knowles. She is 5 months on Sunday with AK 3 months on Thursday. I think they are already friends. Anna-Kate is fascinated by Mary-Knowles. I definitely think the social will be good for both of them. I have my hands full, but I am enjoying myself.

It's official

Anna-Kate is definitely my daughter. If hours of back labor to deliver my 9lb 12oz beauty were not enough to prove it, then the following pictures do. When I was young, I sucked those exact same fingers. I was never enticed by my thumb. I caught her doing this a few days ago. I wasn't sure that it was on purpose until I caught her with them in her mouth just like this at the end of almost every nap.
I love how cute she is in the above picture, and how happy she looks in the one below. I am loving getting to know this amazing baby!

11 weeks

Anna-Kate laughed!
What a beautiful sound! Tonight after Will got home from work, he and I were hanging out with Anna-Kate. I tried tickling her and she laughed! I don't know which I would rather to have caught on camera: Anna-Kate's laugh or Will's happy face (with a tear in his eye - don't tell him I said that ;).

Her other new trick at 11 weeks old has been that she can sit in her Bumbo. These pictures are from the end of last week.

"I'm just figuring this out."

"I am happy; I got this."

"I am thinking ..."

10 Days to 10 Weeks

Having Mommy-friends is a must when you first have a baby. It is so much better when you and the other mommy are already friends! This is my friend Lara with her daughter Claire, who was born right at 2 months before Anna-Kate.
Claire (2 months) and Anna-Kate (10 days)
Claire (4 months) and Anna-Kate (10 weeks)
I like how this shows off how much the babies have grown. Amazing how much changes in just 2 short months!

Chicago

Especially with it being in the news after its name change and new observation window, I thought I would share Will's photos from the top of the Willis Tower (ex-Sears Tower).

Meeting the Family

Anna-Kate and I went home to visit family this weekend while Will was at a business meeting in Chicago. This was the first time my extended family got to meet her. There was also a family reunion, so she was quite the center of attention for a while!
Anna-Kate with her great Grandma Miller
great great Aunt Blanche (86) and Estelle (94) and great Grandma Bertha Miller (90)
These are my grandma's living siblings. Grandma was number 9 of 11 children.

These are my cousin's daughters.
